Ford cars and trucks have been built in Minnesota since 1912. Ford Motor Company's assembly operations began in the Great Northern Implement Building located at 616 South Third Street in Minneapolis. 7-10 Model T's were assembled at this location. By 1915, Ford had moved to a new plant located at 420 North 5th Street in Minneapolis. This building is now known as the Ford Centre and is located real close to the Minnesota Twins new ballpark. Production reached as high as 100 cars per day. In 1925, Ford moved to its present location on Ford Parkway and Mississippi River Blvd. in St. Paul. Currently the Ford Ranger Pickup is produced in this plant.
