Chapter News for January-February 2026

Capitol City Chapter held their annual Christmas party at our regular meeting place in December. The chapter supplied the ham and members supplied the rest of the potluck. No one went home hungry! A “car” game was played and a fun gift exchange was held. Forty-four items were collected for the food shelf.

We will have no meetings in January and February due to possible inclement weather.

Thank you to those members that stepped up to be officers. The chapter could not be a chapter without officers:

President:  Kim Gardner

Vice-President:  Shawn Taylor

Secretary: Ruby Wolens

Treasurer: Toni Ferch

2026 will bring several opportunities.  March, April and May are regular meetings. A steak fry will be held at the Taylors on June 6th, July is a regular meeting and in August, our annual Chicken Fry at the Wolens.

The chapter will be hosting the Region Fall Foliage Tour and it will be chaired by Rich Wolens, date to be determined.

Chapter members Bill & Donna Dirnberger received the MN Region Overall Restoration Award for 2025. Congratulations!

We have new members:  Troy & Melissa Moris have a 1937 Ford and a 1931 Rolls-Royce; Conner and Rebekah Kujak with a 1960 Buick Invicta and Tom Kieffer and his 1957 Ford Thunderbird.  Welcome to all.  Melissa’s father was a member several years ago.  We look forward to seeing all of them and their vintage autos at future events.

Plan to attend (what has become annual events) the shows at Waverly Gardens and Harmony Gardens.  Watch for dates to be announced in August and September.  The residents love to see the cars and talk with everyone.

The Region Judging Meet on June 13th will be held at Barkers Island in Superior, WI, hosted by Gerry Broman and Kent Oliver. Be sure to get your car judged here as a start to the 2027 Central Division National being held in New Ulm, MN, July 22-24, 2027 and hosted by the Minnesota Region.

Lots to think about for the coming season.  As I am writing this, the “storm of the year” is raging outside the window.  Happy New Year!!
