Chapter News for September-October 2023
Capitol City has been active this summer. We held a car show in July at our meeting place, Parkview United Church of Christ, to thank them for allowing our meetings at no cost. There was ice cream and cold drinks and it was a very pleasant afternoon.
August brought a second show at Harmony Gardens. This is where longtime members Floyd and Carol Jaehnert now reside. It was also a big success and the root beer or orange floats were the “icing on the cake”. There is talk of making this an annual event.
August also brought 37 members and guests to Wolens for Capitol City’s annual chicken fry. They braved the construction on Highway 10 for a delicious meal. September will bring a regular meeting on the 10th, plus our participation in the U of M Homecoming Parade on the 29th. Thank you to Vince Smith for organizing this event.
Don’t forget the Region Fall Foliage on September 22 and 23. And the Annual Meeting in November will be hosted by our Capitol City Chapter.
WOW! So much to do and so much to see keeps AACA members busy all summer and fall.
We will all be looking forward to our chapter Christmas party in December.
